Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading Cambridgeshire based client to recruit for a Buyer.The role of the Buyer is to ensure that high level buying practices are adopted to achieve the highest possible standards. Responsibilities: * Negotiate regularly with key suppliers to achieve the best price and delivery. * Hold regular meetings with key suppliers within your Commodity Group to ensure that the suppliers are performing. * To evaluate all quotations, to ensure they meet the needs of our requirements and that the costs quoted are in line with our budgets. Skills/Experience: * Ability to communicate clearly with all internal stakeholders and suppliers and respond quickly to urgent requests. To be able to manage own workload independently. * A good commercial background. * To work safely and ethically Flexibility to travel within the UK as and when required. * Good understanding of all Microsoft Office packages. * A good level of attention to detail is essential Experience in working in a fast-moving Procurement department preferably with some engineering buying experience 48606DHINDPRO
